Senior Designer.

Title: Senior Designer
Reporting to: Associate Creative Director

We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing New York studio. As Senior Designer, you’ll drive the creative process from concept development through to implementation. You’ll own and lead day-to-day creative work across projects, bringing your expertise in design to various mediums.

Main duties of role:

  • Drive creative design: shape and oversee creative work by getting under the skin of the challenge and providing direction to junior designers as required.
  • Apply design criteria: distil creative briefs with clarity and purpose, and develop design solutions from idea generation to implementation.
  • Use design thinking: be inquisitive and curious, and ask probing questions to uncover strategic insights that guide the design criteria and creative product.
  • Deliver fresh creative work: develop design solutions that address clients’ strategic opportunities with commitment and creative flair.
  • Clearly articulate ideas: communicate confidently to sell in strategically-driven creative ideas internally and externally, while navigating client feedback.
  • Learn and apply: express a desire to learn new design and technical skills, thinking ahead to how creative will be delivered and applying that knowledge with every new project.
  • Collaborate across teams: work closely with other creative, strategic, client service and production leads through a holistic approach to creative solutions.
  • Build studio culture: participate in and contribute to the team culture, helping to build a collaborative spirit through a period of strong growth.
  • Work with efficiency: manage your time and workflow to deliver ideas on time, with purpose and without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

Key attributes:

  • Hands-on experience: five to seven years of hands-on design experience in a design agency environment.
  • Design education: hold a design-related bachelor’s degree from a leading design institution (postgraduate degrees are a plus, but not required).
  • Creative portfolio: present a portfolio that demonstrates your expertise in developing strategically-driven creative work across unique brand challenges.
  • Passion for design: share a passion and curiosity for design thinking and creative expression in everything you do.
  • Collaborative mindset: demonstrate an ability to engage in proactive, open and collaborative teamwork across the design team.
  • Openness to critique: respond positively to feedback and direction to help develop your creative work and overall skillset.
  • Confident storytelling skills: show thoughtfulness and confidence in articulating ideas in pitches and presentations to clients.
  • Positive personal skills: professional, organised and calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Proficient software skills: be fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (other platforms are a bonus).
